JULY thru AUGUST

BROWN PATCH WATCH. All fescues are prone to infestations if Brown Patch Fungus Disease. Aggravating factors include high moisture, high temperature, high humidity, and high fertility. Water just enough to keep the turf vital, and then only in the early morning. Avoid excessive foot traffic and any other additional stress to the plant.

To control Brown Patch, treat prenventatively with a recommended systemic fungicide at least every 3 weeks from onset of favorable conditions, usually around July 1. The alternative is to allow the disease to run its course. The disease will develop 18" oval shaped spots that kill the leaves. The crown of the plant usually survives and sends up new growth when the conditions improve. the normal fall maintenance schedule will help the turf to recover.

LATE AUGUST EARLY SEPTEMBER

MID SEPTEMBER

LATE SEPTEMBER

Apply Broadleaf Weed Killer if needed.
